Hello,
I just wanted to say that I’ve finally gotten around to checking out H3DAPI 2.0, and I’m very happy to see it supports its own haptic rendering now through HAPI.
The dependence on OpenHaptics was the main thing that made me totally ignore H3D for the last few years. I am always wary of dependence on a single manufacturer, and let’s say I am somewhat ‘irked’ by the SensAble’s pompous misuse of the term “Open”.
The presence of HAPI totally renews my interest in H3D. Now if only it didn’t require registration to download, it might start to resemble a real open-source project.. 😉
